Will it hurt?
How much pain you can expect during any routine tooth extraction:
1) You may feel the pinch of the needle as your dentist numbs up your teeth and gums.
2) You will feel the back-and-forth pressure that is used to loosen up your tooth until it's free enough to come out (but this shouldn't be confused with feeling pain).
3) Other than that, you don't have to expect that you'll feel any discomfort during your procedure.
4) But if you do feel pain (and not just pressure) and your dentist is aware of it (like when they test your level of numbness) there are steps to take control of it.
